She expelled her father from the party on August 20, 2015, after he made further controversial statements. She also softened some party policy positions, advocating for civil unions for same-sex couples instead of her party&#039;s previous opposition to legal recognition of same-sex partnerships, accepting unconditional abortion and removing the death penalty from his program. An ardent opponent of the United States and NATO, she is committed to removing France from their spheres of influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Pen was featured by Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2011 and 2015.
